Mikkeller was founded in 2006 in Copenhagen, Denmark and is one of the best microbreweries in Europe, if not the world. I went to the Five Points Brewery opening last summer and Mikkeller were there with around 20-30 varieties of beer. The sheer variety and enthusiasm for making beer sparked my interest in the brewery. Since then I’ve tried various brews by them but Bravo remains my favourite.
At the time I picked Bravo because I liked the colour of the label and for no other real reason. It turns out it is an American single hop IPA which is a beer flavour I really enjoy so I was instantly hooked on Bravo. It has that incredible strong aroma that really GREAT IPA’s have and wow the flavour doesn’t let you down either. It is a faultless beer and reminds of Gamma Ray by Beavertown, another favourite of mine.
The colour of the beer is wonderful and if you like your full flavour hops then this one is for you. From digging around I found some notes, here they are, “This beer is a part of a Single Hop IPA series by Mikkeller. Created to showcase hop varieties on their own.” Bravo has a strong American influence and you can see why Mikkeller has been voted fifth best brewery in the world.
This is an incredible brewery making some of the best beers at the moment. I fully recommend you check them out when you get the chance!
