Brixton Brewery Effra Ale 4.5% Brixton, London, UK
Another cracking new micro brewery, this time based in SW9 under an arch in Brixton. I’ve previously waxed lyrical about their Electric IPA and Reliance Pale Ale. Now it was the turn of the Effra Ale, which is an amber ruby ale.
Wild Card Brewery Jack of Clubs 4.5% Walthamstow, London, UK
Walthamstow is the home of many wonderful things, including Eat 17, East 17, Walthamstow Dogs and now one of the best micro breweries in the capital, Wild Card Brewery. I made the trip to E17 and to their industrial estate venue bar a couple of weekends ago and loved their enthusiasm for both beer and E17. It’s made me re-think my N16 status for a life way out in the ‘Stow.
Sambrook’s Brewery Wandle 3.8% Battersea, London, UK
Sambrook’s having been brewing beer since 2008, well before craft beer was even a “thing” in London. They are one of the older breweries in London (crazy) but make quality ale and Wandle was their first ever beer and it’s a belter.
Moncada Brewery Notting Hill Amber 4.7% West London, UK
This may be a generalisation but MOST microbreweries in London are either based in east or south London but west London is popping up with some great beer. I’ve previously loved everything Weird Beard have produced and now my new brewery love is Moncada Brewery. Based in W10 around the Kensal area they have a core range of 5 beers including the Notting Hill Amber.
