Sierra Nevada Brewing Company is one of the finest breweries in the world. When I was first getting into beer discovering Sierra Nevada was somewhat life changing. The brewery has been going since 1980 and every year they produce a Celebration Ale, a 6% IPA.

This Celebration Ale is, “a special ale for the holidays. Celebration IPA is features the first hops of the growing season. This pioneering ale is full of complex flavours and aromas from the generous use of whole-cone American hops.” The first Celebration Ale was brewed in 1981 and every year the recipe is slightly different depending on the hops at the time.

It has a glowing dark orange colour to it and a strong smell of hops. The beer uses Cascade, Centennial and Chinook hops for an intense citrus and fruity taste. This is an early style American IPA and a good one at that.
