I’ve tried a couple of beers by east London’s Redchurch Brewery and they’ve all been excellent. I’m a regular drinker of their pale ale as my favourite burger joint, Honest Burgers always stocks them. They have a great core range of beers and included in my London Ales by Mail order was the Hoxton Stout.

REVIEW: BrewDog Hoppy Christmas

I recently did a review of BrewDog’s Christmas ale, Santa Paws here and although I loved the pun I wasn’t so sure about the beer itself. This time it was the tun of Hoppy Christmas, which I love just on name alone. How would I get on with BrewDog’s second festive beer?

This is my first ever blog words about what is maybe my favourite London brewery, Redemption Brewing Co. It is definitely one of the most underrated breweries in London. Redemption has producing wonderful beers since 2010 and I first fell in love with the brewery in a Wetherspoons years ago when I spotted Urban Dusk, had 4/5 pints of that (at a reasonable price of £3.15) and I was hooked. Since then I’ve loved Big Chief, Trinity and their Pale Ale. What would I make of their London Porter?

REVIEW: Malmesbury Killer Cat Circus IPA

Killer Cat Circus IPA

Wiltshire, UK

Malmesbury Brewing has been in existence since around 2012 and they’re based in the south west in lovely Wiltshire. They set up Killer Cat, a subsidiary of the main brewery shortly after and the beers are slightly different from the main Malmesbury Brewing. I received this IPA from Beer52 who have provided me a month service and if you head over to www.beer52.com and use KEGTODIFFER10 you’ll receive £10 off your first box. It’s a great service.

Signature Brew
Signature Brew combine two things, music and beer. A brewery after my own heart. I’ve previously had a few of their musician collaboration brews including one with the lead singer from The Hold Steady. The brewery was founded in 2012 by Sam, Tom and Dave. This beer was sent to me by Beer52 and you can get beers like Signature Brew, plus many others by visiting their site and using KEGTODIFFER10 as you’ll get £10 off.

Anspach & Hobday
If you happen to down on Druid Street you must pop in to Anspach & Hobday who also share a brewery space with Bullfinch (who are amazing). They were stop number one when I did the Bermondsey Beer Mile in summer and I sampled their fantastic IPA. Paul (Anspach) & Jack (Hobday) founded the brewery and The Porter was the very first brew in 2011.

Pressure Drop
I’ve previously got excited about Pressure Drop on this blog by stating that Pale Fire and Stokey Brown are 4 out 5 beers, check the links. Pressure Drop are really expanding their efforts at the moment and they recently did a takeover in new London craft beer pub called The Hop & Berry in Islington. I embarrassed myself on that night by telling the guys from Pressure Drop they’re my favourites.

REVIEW: Charles Wells Dogfish Head DNA IPA

Dogfishhead
Charles Well is a very well known institution within the UK. For me I associate it with stuffy pubs selling shit beer and even worse food. They also own Wells & Young’s Brewery, who makes the likes of Bombardier etc. Beers I always avoid. Now, Dogfish Head Brewery on the other hand is one of the biggest names in craft beer and the reason for so many craft breweries in the UK. What would happen when the two collide?

REVIEW: BrewDog Santa Paws

I’ve waxed lyrical about BrewDog on this blog many times before for coming up with innovative beers and their fresh attitude to brewing and beer. Beer aside, BrewDog also has a great sense of humour and regularly come up with humours beers that also taste good. When I spotted Santa Paws, a Christmas Scotch ale I knew I had to try it.
