Signature Brew combine two things, music and beer. A brewery after my own heart. I’ve previously had a few of their musician collaboration brews including one with the lead singer from The Hold Steady. The brewery was founded in 2012 by Sam, Tom and Dave. I don’t know that many breweries in the midlands however I’ve been aware of Oakham Ales for a while. My introduction was ordering a pint of Scarlet Macaw a lovely fruity number and since then I’ve been trying various beers by them. Oakham was officially opened on Friday 13th in October 2006 and since then has won a plethora of awards for its beers. Paul Hook and John Bryan are the two partners but Oakham Ales was originally the brainchild of John  Wood.

was set up in 2011 by Jon Swain and Peter Hills following many years working in pubs, including one of my favourite pubs in London, The Charles Lamb. At present the brewery has a core range of four beers including this APA (American Pale Ale).
