Another cracking new micro brewery, this time based in SW9 under an arch in Brixton. I’ve previously waxed lyrical about their Electric IPA and Reliance Pale Ale. Now it was the turn of the Effra Ale, which is an amber ruby ale.

I previously got excited by Brixton Brewery last year when I tried their Reliance Pale Ale, you can read about my thoughts here. As I mentioned in that post Brixton are one of the newer breweries in the UK but since they first opened have really put a stamp on the UK craft beer scene. Starting with three beers, the aforementioned Reliance Pale Ale, the Effra Ale and this wonderful Electric IPA. They’ve now got a couple more beers in stock that I’m yet to try including the Atlantic APA and Windrush Stout. This newly founded brewery is one of the finest in the UK and none more so than the Electric IPA.

In the last post I reviewed a beer from the oldest brewery in the UK (Shepherd Neame) so it seemed right to talk about one of the newest breweries around, if not the newest? I’ve only been aware of Brixton Brewery for a couple of weeks and officially the brewery and its beers were official as of October 16th. Surely making it the newest brewery on the block? It is always fantastic to see new breweries because variety is always a good thing, in my opinion at least.
