Brew By Numbers are based in Bermondsey on the infamous beer mile of craft breweries around south east London. They produce a range of amazing different beers from specialist pale ales to Witbier, Coffee Porter, Berliner Weisse and so many more. I visited the brewer last spring and was in awe of all the beers they had on offer.

I love Weird Beard and never been disappointed by the couple of beers I’ve tried by them so far. I’ve previously had their American IPA, called Five O’Clock Shadow which I absolutely loved and reviewed here. So, when the London beer mix I purchased from Ales by Mail included a Double IPA titled Holy Hoppin’ Hell arrived I was chuffed (UNDERSTATEMENT).

I ordered a few “must try” breweries from the wonderful beer lords at Ales by Mail recently and one of the breweries included Arbor. Based in the south west of England in Bristol Arbor are a brewery I’ve been desperate to try for ages. Arbor has been in existence since 2007 and as of October 2010 has two pubs in Bristol to its name. Head brewer is Jon Comer and they have around 10 core beers.

It came as quite a surprise to me that this was my first review of a Camden Town Brewery beer. I’ve been drinking their beers for a couple of years now and think they’re a strong brand. I particularly like the Camden Wit and Camden Pale Ale and for someone who dislikes “lager” I actually quite like the Camden Hells.

On a recent what I would call pilgrimage to the Bermondsey beer mile I stopped off at the rather impressive albeit underrated Brew By Numbers brewery and was seriously impressed. The variety of beers Brew By Numbers, often referred to as BBNo offered was incredible and for someone who loves an IPA I went straight for the 05/05 India Pale Ale, Simcoe & Chinook.
